On November 5, 2025, Piraeus Bank had the pleasure of welcoming the Ukraine-Britain Business Council (UBBC) delegation to our headquarters in Kyiv, in cooperation with Ukraine Business News (UBN).

The meeting brought together organizations united by a shared mission: fostering greater investment from the United Kingdom into Ukraine. This goal aligns closely with Piraeus Bank’s strategic commitment to supporting the country’s economic recovery and strengthening its financial infrastructure.

Representatives of Ukraine Business News, Andrew Pryma and Mark McNamee, delivered an overview of current investment trends, helping to challenge outdated perceptions about doing business in Ukraine. They highlighted the wide range of opportunities emerging across the country’s resilient and fast-developing sectors.

From the Piraeus Bank side, Ilias Mouzakis, Member of the Management Board, and Christos Bougiouklis, Head of Commercial Banking, provided expert insights into the Ukrainian financial environment. They outlined both the strengths of the market and the operational challenges that foreign investors may encounter, including wartime uncertainty, infrastructure damage caused by Russian attacks, and labor market pressures.

The discussion emphasized that, despite the difficulties brought on by the war, Ukraine continues to demonstrate remarkable economic resilience. Participants agreed that deeper collaboration between Piraeus Bank, UBBC, and UBN can play a meaningful role in guiding international investors, facilitating capital inflows, and supporting Ukraine’s long-term recovery.
