On November 12, the Piraeus Bank team took part in the annual Digital Banking Conference 2025, organized by UAFIC. The event serves as a key platform for sharing expertise and presenting innovations shaping the digital future of Ukraine’s banking sector.

Today, the banking industry operates in a rapidly changing environment, where cybersecurity, technological advancement, and adaptability are decisive factors for development. This year’s conference brought together leading industry experts to discuss current challenges and trends in the digital transformation of financial institutions.

Key topics included the role of regulators in digital banking transformation, collaboration between banks and startups, future trends in digital banking, cybersecurity, innovative products, and the evolution of customer behavior.

One of the conference’s main discussions was the panel “FinTech + Bank: Delivering Solutions for SMEs”, featuring Yannis Kyriakopoulos, Chairman of the Board of Piraeus Bank Ukraine, and Hlib Denysiuk, Advisor on Development and Strategic Partnerships at Activitis. The panel was moderated by Margaryta Pobilets, one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in FinTech 2025 and Head of Capital and Investment Engagement.

Participants discussed modern fintech solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the joint project WEAGROBANK by Piraeus Bank and Activitis — Ukraine’s first digital bank for the agribusiness sector.
WEAGROBANK aims to make agribusiness financing fast, transparent, and technology-driven, providing farmers with access to modern financial tools and supporting the development of Ukraine’s agricultural ecosystem.
