Piraeus Bank Management Discusses Ukraine’s Investment Potential with Greek Exporters
21 September 2026

On 8 September, Yannis Kyriakopoulos, Country Manager and CEO, and Christos Bougiouklis, member of the Management Board of Piraeus Bank in Ukraine, met with a number of selected members of the Exporters' Association of Northern Greece (SEVE) at a private dinner organised by the association in Thessaloniki. The discussion focused on Ukraine’s current economic environment, future outlook and the opportunities emerging for international businesses.

Yannis Kyriakopoulos shared a realistic perspective on the market and the key factors shaping investment decisions. He also spoke about Piraeus Bank’s role as the only Greek bank operating in Ukraine. Drawing on the Bank’s presence across the country’s key regions, he offered practical insight into the local business environment and the first steps Greek companies should consider when exploring the Ukrainian market.

Christos Bougiouklis outlined how companies currently operate in Ukraine and discussed the prospects across different sectors including agriculture, energy, technology, IT, infrastructure, real estate and food production.

The discussion generated strong interest and constructive exchange with SEVE members. As international companies consider opportunities in Ukraine, Piraeus Bank in Ukraine, working closely with Piraeus Group in Greece, is ready to support them beyond financing by helping them navigate the initial stages of entering the market and make well-informed investment decisions.

Piraeus Bank expresses its appreciation to SEVE and its members for organising this valuable discussion and looks forward to continuing the dialogue, including through future business delegations to Ukraine.
