Withdrawal of 1, 2, 5 and 10 Hryvnia Banknotes from Circulation

Dear clients,

Starting from March 2, 2026, the National Bank of Ukraine will begin withdrawing from circulation banknotes of 1, 2, 5, and 10 hryvnias issued in 2003–2007, in accordance with NBU Resolution No. 14 dated February 17, 2026.

What this means for you:

  • From March 2, 2026, banknotes of 1, 2, 5, and 10 hryvnias (2003–2007 series) will no longer be accepted for cash payments.
  • Until February 26, 2027, Piraeus Bank will accept these banknotes from legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, and separate subdivisions for crediting to their accounts, regardless of their organizational and legal form or ownership structure.
  • Until February 26, 2027, the Bank will also provide free exchange of 2003–2007 series banknotes for coins and banknotes of all denominations currently in circulation for individuals.
