Piraeus Bank in Ukraine is the most technologically advanced bank of GUAM

Piraeus Bank in Ukraine is a prize winner of the 3rd International Contest "Best Banks of GUAM - 2012" in the nomination "The most technologically advanced bank in the countries of GUAM", according to the "Banker" international magazine and the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (GUAM). The solemn ceremony was held on 14 March in Kyiv.

"Piraeus Bank is actively working on the implementation of innovative technologies in the customer service as we strive to make our banking convenient and accessible at any time and any place, - Yannis Kyriakopoulos, Head of the Supervisory Board of Piraeus Banks in Ukraine said.- Further development of Internet banking system winbank is a strategic goal for us, thus we implement new functionalities that help customers to receive remote access to their funds and manage them on their own anytime”.

This year, Piraeus Bank in Ukraine has launched a virtual payment card Visa Virtual, which was designed for safe online-shopping in the internet. The bank has also introduced a telephone banking service for remote access to winbank. In 2012 the winbank mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms were launched.

Piraeus Bank technologies have repeatedly gained international recognition. In particular, the winbank mobile application was the winner in the "Best Mobile Banking in Europe" nomination of the “Global Finance” (New York) magazine. Piraeus Bank was in TOP-5 in "Best Electronic Banks of Ukraine" rating of "InvestGazeta" business weekly.

According to the chief editor of "Banker" magazine Oleg Kapralov,  "The Best Banks of GUAM - 2012" winners were determined on the basis of such criteria as contribution to the development of the banking system, the bank’s success, the openness and accessibility of information on its activities, impeccable business reputation, positive audit findings of experts, the management effectiveness in achieving financial results, the implementation of risk management and the use of stress tests.

"The contest’s results are very important for banks as well as for their customers. Following the international contest the reliable banking institutions with high level of professionalism and economic efficiency were highlighted", - Valeriy Chechelashvili, GUAM Secretary General said.
Banks in Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova participated in the contest "Best Banks of GUAM - 2012". The organizing committee determined the winners considering the opinions of international banking experts, rating agencies and regulators.

The Bank is authorized by the Pension Fund of Ukraine to make payments of pensions and financial assistance. The Bank is a member of Fund of Guaranteeing the Deposits of Individuals and Forum of Leading International Financial institutions (FLIFI).
