The Supervisory Board of Piraeus Bank in Ukraine has appointed Christos Bougiouklis as a member of the Management Board, responsible for all commercial banking business, effective from July 23, 2020.
Following approval by the Supervisory Board, his responsibilities as a member of the Management Board will include development in corporate and SME banking business, as well as the development of financial products focusing in lending and trade finance.
“Mr. Christos Bougiouklis has served the bank from the position of a member of the Supervisory Board for more than two years. His exposure, during this period, was related to the commercial banking activities of the bank and this contributed to his familiarization with the local market and practices. With his appointment to the position of Member of the Management Board responsible for commercial banking, we are gaining an experienced senior banking executive with a wide-range of expertise in this area. We are certain that Piraeus Bank will rise and develop to a new level of cooperation and successful relationships with corporate and SME clients, which are strategically the priority for Piraeus Bank,” stated Yannis Kyriakopoulos, Country Manager, Chairman of Supervisory Board of Piraeus Bank in Ukraine.
NOTE: Before taking this position, Mr. Bougiouklis was a Member of Supervisory Board of Piraeus bank Ukraine for more than two years.
Also, Christos Bougiouklis was CEO & Executive Director of Perseus SA for almost four years, a company engaged in fish feed production.
From 2013 to 2016 he was a General Manager, Executive BOD Member in Euroconsultants S.A., a management consulting company focusing in operational restructuring of companies.
From 2010 until 2013 he was employed in ZANAE S.A: Food Production Company Mr. Christos Bougiouklis was Director of Financial department and Strategic Planning.
From 1993 to 2009 Christos served in various positions within HSBC Bank, in Athens and Thessaloniki, becoming Head of Northern Greece, responsible for business development and HSBC group members operating in Northern Greece.
From 1989 to 1993, Christos Bougiouklis worked in Arthur Andersen, Athens, Greece.
Mr. Christos Bougiouklis holds an MBA from Strathclyde Business School, Glasgow and a B.S. degree in Economics from Richmond University, London.

On July 21st, 2022, the National Bank of Ukraine introduced changes on the transactions and operations carried out abroad (outside of the territory of Ukraine) on Hryvnia (UAH) cards and accounts. Those new limitations are only related to operations, carried out abroad from UAH cards and accounts, whilst foreign currency cards and accounts have not been impacted from those restrictions. In detail:
UAH12.500 equivalent in foreign currency per 7 days from the first time of withdrawal. The limit is not calculated cumulatively.
UAH80.000 equivalent per calendar month for transactions at POS terminals (physical presence of card or NFC technology on phone), purchases on the internet secured by full 3DSecure* and recurring payments**.
UAH20.000 equivalent per calendar month for the rest type of online transactions.
